About

An independent, evidence-first resource on trigger point therapy and myofascial pain — written for patients and clinicians.

Our mission

Trigger point therapy sits at an awkward intersection of pain science, musculoskeletal medicine, and self-care. Much of what patients find online is either oversimplified wellness content or gated academic literature. This site exists to bridge that gap.

Every article on this site cites its sources. Every diagnostic criterion is annotated with an evidence grade. Every treatment recommendation is accompanied by the best available evidence for its effectiveness — including where the evidence is thin or mixed.

Editorial standards

Articles are written from primary sources: peer-reviewed studies, systematic reviews, clinical guidelines, and authoritative textbooks (Travell & Simons, Dommerholt & Fernández-de-las-Peñas, and others).

Evidence is graded using a three-tier strength scale — strong, moderate, weak — following the GRADE framework. Readers see this grade at the point of claim, not buried in a methodology appendix.

Articles are reviewed before publication and re-reviewed at least annually. The reviewer’s name, credentials, and review date appear on each article.

Medical review

Clinical content is reviewed by licensed physicians, physical therapists, and pain specialists. Reviewers do not write the articles they review; editorial independence is maintained through this separation.

We do not accept paid placements, sponsored content, or industry-funded articles. This site has no affiliations with pharmaceutical, supplement, or device manufacturers.
